Elsmere v Little Paxton Colts

This is a team over the years we should have beaten, even though missing our strikers I still thought we had the strength in the team to do this. But unfortunately due to being not switched on and arguing with decisions that were made by the ref we found ourselves 4-0 down within the first 15/20mins. Lee Chapman pulled one back to bring it 4-1 at half time. After a team talk and making a few changes along with telling the lads to shut up!!! And get on with the game - The ref’s whistle and decision is final. We dominated the second half pulling back two more goals to blinding free kicks, Luke’s 30 yarder beat everybody and Harry’s quick free kick left everyone standing….A few unlucky bookings again!! ~ (so boys do what you do best and play good team football). Game finished with a 4-3 win to Elsmere.

 Team profile

The team was started in 1999 with only three original players from that year Luke lee and Carl. We won the league in our first year with these three being top scorers. Carl defender 21 goals, Luke midfield 19 goals and Lee striker 23 goals. The next few years we were able to have two teams called Colts and Stallions which proved to be very successful. With thanks to John Younger, David Baker and David Lumley for helping me to assist and manager both teams over the years. Thanks to Darren Brown for stepping in to assist me with the team this year.The current team on paper is awesome but we are still gelling together after a lot of changes and new players, this is starting to come together slowly and hopefully will continue. Thanks to sponsors this year for a new kit Lou Ferrara and Issan Orakci for our new jackets...

They are a great bunch of lads that can produce some outstanding football.
