Background

The club was founded in 1995 and has been running ever since. Currently Little Paxton has seven teams in age groups from, Under 7 all the way to Under 16. Affiliated to Huntingdon Football Association, the Under 11s upward play in the Cambridge and district colts League and the Under 10s and below play in the Hunts Mini soccer League.

The Mini soccer teams play at Little Paxton Primary School and the Colts play at the village hall playing fields both of which are located on Gordon Road. Over 70% of the players are residents of the village and so the club receives the full backing and support of the Parish council and village school. By the end of the 2008 we anticipate the completion of a new pitch and sports facility on Mill Road comprising an adult sized pitch with proper changing facilities.

The Club aims to be a charter standard development club by the end of the 2007-08 season and is pursuing an active programme of continued personal development for all its managers and coaches. In doing so we hope to raise the profile of the club and the enjoyment of all.

Ethos

Little Paxton Colts FC is run for the youth of little Paxton and the surrounding villages. The aims of the club are to

• To build lasting friendships and community spirit through the game of football.
• To teach and promote fair play and equality not just within sport but within the wider community
• To teach and develop individual’s skills
• To encourage all regardless of ability to enjoy the game
• To promote respect both by way of behaviour and tolerance of others. Particularly in relations to home and away club officials.
• To further the interest of the game of football
• To gain mutual respect for the youth of the village
• To support and motivate youth in self belief
